Data Controller
Sotavento Villas, Inc. (“Sotavento”), reachable at hola@sotaventovillas.com, is responsible for the processing of the personal data you provide to us, pursuant to Mexico's Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).
Data we collect
Name, e-mail, phone, country and language; your reservation details (villa, dates, guest count, occasion); payment data processed by Stripe (we never store your full card number — we only receive the last digits, verification results and billing address); government ID when required for anti-fraud verification; technical visit data (IP address, device, pages viewed); and the content of your conversations with our concierge (WhatsApp, website chat and e-mail).
Primary purposes
Managing your reservation and stay; processing payments and issuing receipts; verifying your identity and preventing fraud and chargebacks; providing concierge service before and during your stay; performing the Vacation Rental Contract and applicable legal obligations.
Secondary purposes
Sending you Sotavento recommendations, promotions and communications (and from our sister brand Altamar) about villas and experiences. You may object to these purposes at any time by writing to hola@sotaventovillas.com, without affecting your reservation.
Transfers
To operate your reservation we share only the strictly necessary data with: the owner or professional manager of the villa you book (name, dates and guest count); Stripe, Inc. (payment processing and fraud prevention); Meta Platforms / messaging providers (to communicate with you via WhatsApp); and infrastructure and analytics providers operating under contract with us. We do not sell your personal data.
Retention
We keep reservation, contract-acceptance and payment data for the periods needed to meet legal, tax and dispute-defense obligations (including the electronic-acceptance evidence of the Contract), after which we delete or anonymize it.
ARCO rights
You may exercise at any time your rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation and Objection, revoke your consent, or limit the use or disclosure of your data, by writing to hola@sotaventovillas.com with your name, the e-mail associated with your reservation and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within the timeframes set by the LFPDPPP.
