Villa Bellamar
Villa Bellamar is a private 13-suite Caribbean estate on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, thirty minutes south of Playa del Carmen and twenty north of Tulum. Some vacations give you a room; Villa Bellamar gives you a house — a full household staff, a private gourmet chef who prepares three meals a day, and no agenda except the one you set.
The thirteen suites each have a private bath with tub and shower and are configured with a king or two twin beds, plus sofa beds and trundles for larger groups. The estate sleeps up to 52 — four per suite, 39 adults and 13 children on the trundle beds — and hosts seated events for up to 150 guests. At its centre is a 1,500 sq ft L-shaped pool with a wet bar, an outdoor jacuzzi and a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views over the bay.
Half Moon Bay is protected by a coral reef, which keeps the water calm and ideal for snorkelling, kayaking and sunrise swims. Akumal means “place of turtles” in Mayan, and the turtles still graze the reef a few steps from the terrace. The house includes a professionally curated wellness programme, an air-conditioned multipurpose room, a media room, and off-street parking for six vehicles. Pets are welcome and the property is wheelchair accessible.
